The Linsfort Experience
Have you ever wished you could go away
for a weekend somewhere different, somewhere beautiful and tranquil, where
you and your group could experience life at a relaxed pace, in tune with
nature and the rhythm of the sea?
Well, such was our experience one
weekend in October.

We each had our hopes for and
expectations of the weekend, but the reality far surpassed our wildest
dreams! As we rounded the final bend in the road from Linsfort, the
house suddenly rose in front of us…a magnificent, flood-lit, Georgian
house, warm and welcoming in appearance, overlooking Lough Swilly.
The first sound to reach our ears was that of waves breaking on rocks some
yards in front of the house, as the lights from the opposite side to the
lake reflected in the water. What a sight!
The warmth of Sr.
Anne McDaid’s welcome was matched by the warmth and comfort of the house,
as we entered the spacious drawing-room, in which burned a homely fire in
a large grate. As we toured the house, everywhere was pervaded by an aura
conducive to ‘letting go’ of stress – candles burned, oils
fragranced the air and flowers added colour and natural beauty.
